Resumes are being accepted for the temporary position of Transportation Safety Specialist. As the City pursues their road safety goals, the Transportation Safety Specialist will have an exciting opportunity to review, design, implement and evaluate various road safety policies identified in our Vision Zero Action Plan. Reporting to the Road Safety Supervisor, the Transportation Safety Specialist will be responsible for providing support, strategic advice and expertise for successful delivery of projects, including updates to Traffic Calming installations, proactive network screening reviews, and ongoing implementation of the updated Traffic Calming Policy. The successful candidate will collect, analyze and make recommendations for changes in the road, cycling and pedestrian network to improve safety, connectivity and flow.
The position will be responsible for supporting the planning and operation of the overall municipal transportation system, including active and sustainable transportation. You will work with operational and technical teams, corporate teams and external organizations to ensure a smooth project flow, timely work completion and that all requirements are met.

Hours of work
35 hours per week Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm. Occasional after-hours work may be required for public meetings. This position is eligible for hybrid and flexible work arrangement options (as per current corporate policy).
